East End Garden Showcase
June 14th - June 29th 2008
Its time to prepare
those flower gardens, plan
a beautiful showpiece of
color and register for the
most celebrated garden
displays in Charleston.
This year, our East
End urban gardens will be
showcased June 14 to 29.
We are encouraging families, individuals, schools
and businesses to sign
up. A yard sign will again
be placed in the yard or
porch of each participating
address, and an informal
self-guided tour will be
printed and distributed.
An added feature for this
year’s Showcase is “Meet
the Gardener” day June 21
Gardeners will be encour-
aged to be at their homes
to talk to people about their
plants, their techniques and
their successful gardens.
The self-guided Garden Showcase tour will be
a part of the 2008 FESTIVALL , Charleston’s annual
city-wide arts event. This
East End contribution of
the horticultural arts will
promote the walkability of
our community and allow
visitors to learn more abou
urban gardening.
Gardens will not be
judged.
However, the first
30 addresses to register
will receive a $10 gift certif
icate from a local East End
business. Registration is
$5 and is due May 16. You
